Improving Cardiovascular and Respiratory Function
Xigris has been shown to improve cardiovascular and respiratory function in high-risk severe sepsis patients.
Cardiovascular function improvement
- More patients receiving Xigris were no longer receiving vasopressors by Day 5
- 37% fewer patients receiving Xigris died of septic shock1,2*
Respiratory function improvement
- Significantly higher PaO2/FiO2 ratio by Day 7 and significantly faster resolution of respiratory dysfunction† over Days 1-7 compared with standard therapy patients
- 55% fewer patients receiving Xigris died of respiratory failure1,2‡
*Based on relative risk of shock deaths.
†PaO2/FiO2 >400 mmHg without ventilator support.
‡Relative risk reduction at 28 days.
Bleeding is the most common adverse reaction associated with Xigris therapy. Please see Important Safety Information and full Prescribing Information for Xigris.
